How to Obtain
There are 4 ways to obtain ships.
- Building
- Buying
- Plundering
- Salvaging
Building
The primary and most direct method of obtaining ships is building them at the Shipwright. Using the above Baseline Cost Table, you can build any of the buildable ships assuming you have sufficient turns, gold coin, and required resources in a warehouse.
Buying
The secondary method is to purchase ships built by others and placed for sale on the Ship Market. Ships here have varying values and can be brand new or fully leveled up. Credits are required to purchase ships from the Ship Market. Buying ships on the market is not a guarantee as you are bidding for the ship versus other players.
Plundering
Ships can be obtained via plunder. Plundering is not a guarantee to obtain a ship. Ship plunder is dependent on several factors and only occurs when the losing fleet does not have sufficient funds to pay the plunder ransom. You can find specific details on the Plunder & Skirmish page.
Salvaging
Ships can be obtained via ship salvaging, in game known as Shipwreck Hunting. Shipwreck Hunting is not a guarantee to obtain a ship as it is dependent on ships being sunk to the sea floor during battle. Details on Shipwreck Hunting can be found on the Game Mechanics page.
Leveling
Ship levels can be both gained and lost.
Details on losing levels can be found in Plunder & Skrimish and Voodoo.
There are two means to gain ship levels.
- Gold Coin
- Voodoo Card - Expedition Journey
Gold Coin Leveling Cost
The cost for each ship level upgrade is calculated as: Gold to upgrade = Current Ship Level * Base Ship Value / 2
